Speak Shop reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the Speak Shop website and related services at any time.
This Privacy Policy describes the information, as part of the normal operation of our services, we collect from you and what may happen to that information. Although this policy may seem long, we have prepared a detailed policy because we believe you should know as much as possible about Speak Shop's practices so that you can make informed decisions.
By accepting the Privacy Policy and the User Agreement in registration, you expressly consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the terms of the Speak Shop User Agreement. This version of our Privacy Policy is effective upon acceptance in registration for new registering users, and is otherwise effective on the date at the top of this Policy for all users.
The Speak Shop Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we are in possession of personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 13, we will immediately delete such information.
Security measures
Speak Shop does not collect credit card or payment information. Speak Shop uses PayPal to process all payment transactions for both the membership fee and the tutor fee. Please see www.paypal.com for details regarding their security and privacy policies.
Your personal profile
When Speak Shop asks information of Users (including students and tutors), Speak Shop’s primary interest is to provide you with more personalized service. If you are a Speak Shop student, your user name and e-mail address are displayed to Speak Shop tutors with whom you have reserved a lesson. If you are a Speak Shop tutor, your name and e-mail address are displayed to a Speak Shop student who has reserved a lesson with you. Speak Shop does not sell, rent or trade your name or personal details to other organizations unless you give Speak Shop permission to do so.
Registration for a subscription
Speak Shop offers students the ability to meet language tutors and take language courses online at competitive rates. To take one of these courses, you need to become a member of Speak Shop and provide certain information requested on the sign up form.
Information collected during lessons
In the course of providing lessons, language Tutors may collect information from students. This information is used to determine the language capabilities of students, and is used in the course of providing personalized language instruction. Speak Shop tutors are not employees, but are independent contractors and maintain their own files and records related to student lessons. In some circumstances, Tutors submit information to us or to a third-party supervisor. This information is maintained solely to assist us in providing the services, and to assist Tutors in communicating with students or providing quality lessons.
IP addresses and browser type
Speak Shop’s website logs your computer's IP address and browser type, but Speak Shop does not link this data to anything that can personally identify you. This means that your session will be tracked, but the user remains anonymous. Speak Shop logs this information so that Speak Shop can monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage, which helps Speak Shop to constantly improve the design and layout of Speak Shop.

The Speak Shop website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Speak Shop is not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of other sites. Speak Shop encourages you to be aware when you leave the Speak Shop website and to read the privacy statements of any website that collects information. Refer a friend
If you decide to refer a friend to the Speak Shop website, Speak Shop asks you for the friend’s email address and give you the option of sending them a personal message. Speak Shop will then send a one-time, automatically generated email message inviting your friend to visit the Speak Shop website.

When you (student or tutor) become a member of Speak Shop you are asked if you will receive communications from Speak Shop, which may include information on special offers or events taking place that are related to Speak Shop, as well as email offers from Speak Shop that advertise third-party products or services. There is always the possibility to stop receiving these messages, through an option to unsubscribe that will be present in each of these emails.
The Speak Shop privacy policy is subject to change. If Speak Shop decides to change the way it collects, uses or shares information, Speak Shop will take reasonable steps to notify you by by posting a notice on the website.
